About Us
Our Story
Wolf Pine Capital was born from a desire to transform the wealth management experience. Disenchanted with the impersonal, transaction-focused nature of traditional finance and the high fees typical of many RIAs, we envisioned a different approach. Our mission was to democratize the exclusive, personalized service of family offices, making it accessible to more people.
Our name symbolizes this mission: the wolf represents a communal spirit, and the pine, enduring strength. We aimed to create a firm where relationships are paramount, and every client’s financial journey is treated uniquely. At Wolf Pine Capital, we combine transparency, reasonable fees, and a deep commitment to each client, offering a refreshing alternative in wealth management.
Welcome to a new era of financial partnership with Wolf Pine Capital – where your legacy is our priority.
Hello, I’m Peter Ankeny, the founder of Wolf Pine Capital.
With a deep passion for finance and a commitment to transforming the wealth management experience, I established Wolf Pine Capital to offer a unique, client-focused approach. My expertise lies in personalized financial planning, strategic investment management, and effective multigenerational wealth transfer solutions. My mission is to bring the family office service package to a broader audience, ensuring that each client receives the highest level of care and tailored financial advice.
Background
I started my career as a mechanical engineer, working on enclosed variable frequency drive design and hydraulic-diesel hybrid drivetrains. I loved engineering, but my passion for personal finance ultimately led me to a career in wealth management. I began at UBS in their private wealth division, building and implementing financial plans for ultra-high net worth clients. I then moved to Lake Street Advisors, where I helped large families navigate the complexities of multi-generational wealth transfer. These experiences in both the wirehouse and independent RIA space have helped shape the vision and practices of Wolf Pine Capital.
When I’m not working, I enjoy skiing, cycling, golf, and jiu jitsu. I was a D1 NCAA alpine skier at Dartmouth, and skiing continues to be a big part of my life. When there is no snow on the ground, I spend my free time cycling and golfing. Jiu jitsu is my latest passion. It offers a humbling experience and keeps me coming back for more.
